Once upon a time, back in the old days, farmers used to paint pictures on their barns, advertisements (like Mail Pouch Tobacco signs) were offered to farmers for free, and they would otherwise try to make the barns a bit more attractive. About the year 2000, Barn Quilts made a comeback and have been popular for most of the last 17 years. Don’t know what a Barn Quilt is? Well, it’s a wooden wall hanging that looks like a quilt square. They come in a variety of sizes with just about any imaginable pattern you can think of. I have two to share with you that were made by Christine Meredith of Dale, Indiana. I think they are beautiful! These pieces measure 2′ by 2′ and are 2″ deep. They’re heavy – roughly 13 pounds each. They are finished strong so they can be hung outdoors (on the side of your house or garage – or wherever) and withstand the weather for years! Let me know what you think of them by “rating” or “commenting” on this post! I’d appreciate it!
